Introduction to Prayer-Power

Hi! :-)

My name is George Hartwell. I live in Toronto, Canada. I am married with grown children.

Over the last 30 years I have sought to add wisdom to faith so that I could accomplish much through prayer. James 5:16 says that one's prayers can be powerful and effective.

I am a Christian counsellor of 30 years experience. I have used prayer in my professional practice. I have trained ministry teams and lay counsellors. I have developed tools for prayer and for inner healing. See www.HealMyLife.com.

  • You may contact me in Toronto at (416) 234-1850. Call from across Canada 1 (877) 854-3990.

Now, I would like to share some of that wisdom with you so that your prayers become more effective. Shall I begin?

FIRST. Let your prayers be positive:
  • You hear of the need; you pray the answer.
  • You know the problem, but you pray the solution.
  • Do not remind God or publish descriptions of the problem. To much focus on the problem is characteristic of worry and unbelief.
  • If all that you can think about and imagine is the problem, if all that you can "see" is the need then you are not able to pray effectively. You have no faith energy left to focus on God's positive plan and purpose and will for this situation. With God nothing is impossible.
  • Once you hear the problem you must listen for the prayer.
  • You must listen to the person who reports the problem and listen to God who is the solution to every problem.

So the policy at Prayer-Power will be to post positive prayers and not to post problems. This is not to deny crisis. It is to choose to publish actual prayers so we can pray in faith and agreement and be effective.

Example of a positive prayer from the Lord's Prayer: "Holy Father, You are so good. May your kingdom come today in my life, in George's live and in the life of __________."

Second: all prayer should not be from the head but from the heart and with faith of the heart. To do this we need to learn what is prayer and how to do listening prayer. We learn to do listening prayer.
